SOLAR SHIELD SHINGLE COATING Emerald Cities Solar Reflective Sealer can be sprayed on asphalt shingles to cool the roof 10˚-20˚(F) and sealing the surface with a tough waterproof urethane coating which repels water intrusion.
EC Colors: Amethyst, Celery, Light Oak The beauty of this product is that the application is very low tech, and can be applied by the homeowner with an ordinary garden pump spray. The company features a few stock colors, (as seen above) but will also custom match at no additional charge for orders equal to 20 gallons or more. It makes a great do-it-yourself solution to cutting air conditioning costs with a beautiful easy to apply solar reflective roof coating color that looks natural.
EC FLAT ROOF COATINGS
EC Cool Roof Sulrry Coating is unlike other roof coatings because they contains nano silicas adding strength, durability, and long evity. These liquid nano rubbers which flows into cracks to seal and waterproof a roof surface and which dry tough to resist water intrusion, weathering or peeling. They are also available in many solar reflective colors while maintaining their reflective values. Surface must be clean and dry before the coating application. All major cracks should be spackled with Emerald Cities Crack Filler first an allowed to partially dry. Do not use a silicone caulk. Make sure roof drainage is adequate to correct for future ponding on flat roofs.
No Primer Needed EC Cool Roof go on smooth with a roller or squeegee and is self self priming. Roller applications (10 mil) may require two coats, while squeegee applications require only one (20 mil). It is important to seam tape all joints and cracks to avoid future cracking and leaking. Emerald Cities also provides a Seam Tape for use around hinges, windows, vents and over joints and cracks for further reinforcing.
Weather & Drying Guidelines EC Cool Roof coatings are best applied between 40 to 90 degrees F. on warm dry su rfaces. Apply when the streets and roofs are dry, the sun is in the sky, and no inclement weather is forecast. Dries in 2 hours, depending on thickness of application and weather, and cures in 24 hours. Low temperatures, high humidity, and evening and morning dew will require increased drying/curing time.
Estimated Coverage Standard product coverage on a smooth surface is 100 sq. ft. per 1 gallon pail per coat (est. 10-15 ml). More than one coat recommended is recommended for seriously water damage issue on r oofs; more co ats equal longer life.
Solar Reflective Colors A white roof is the coolest roof, and will save the most money on summertime air conditioning use. Solar Reflective colors are available upon request, and can be custom matched at no extra charge while still maintianing their high Solar Reflective values.
Clear Topcoating Always follow with EC Clear topcoat to prevent UV degradation of the rubber membrane surface.
